The NEU-JKF team participated in an intensive product training organized by RSBP, which focused on the latest process safety and explosion protection solutions in compliance with ATEX (ATmosphères EXplosibles) requirements. The training was an excellent opportunity to deepen technical knowledge and exchange experiences with industry experts.
What is ATEX and why is it a key safety feature?
The ATEX Directive is a European regulation that specifies requirements for equipment and systems operating in potentially explosive atmospheres. The term is derived from the French “ATmosphères EXplosibles” and covers both requirements for equipment design and certification (Directive 2014/34/EU) and rules for risk assessment and worker safety (Directive 1999/92/EC).
In industrial practice, explosion hazard zones are defined on the basis of the frequency of the appearance of explosive atmospheres – especially where there is a possibility of the formation of clouds of combustible dust (e.g. zones 20, 21, 22).
Safety in dust extraction systems
In industrial dust collection systems, such as those designed and implemented by NEU-JKF, controlling the risk of explosion is an absolute priority. Our ATEX-compliant solutions include certified components – from filters, rotary airlocks and ventilation systems to detection and explosion protection systems – that minimize the risk of ignition and ensure the continuity of production processes.
ATEX compliance means that equipment is designed, manufactured and tested to operate safely even in conditions where there are dusts, gases or vapors that can create an explosive atmosphere. As a result, investors and users can rest assured that priority is given to protecting the health and lives of workers and the reliability of processes.
Practical value of training
Participation in training courses, such as the one conducted by RSBP, allows our specialists to further understand the requirements of the standards and implement ATEX solutions in everyday projects. It’s also an opportunity to learn about the latest explosion protection techniques, which translates into an even higher standard of safety in our customers’ installations.
