On January 28-30, 2026, the 17th edition of the prestigious industry conference “Selective collection, segregation and recycling of waste” was held in Lodz, organized by Abrys Sp. z o.o. – one of the key organizers of meetings on waste management and environmental protection.
The event brought together experts, representatives of local governments, municipal companies and industry partners to jointly analyze current challenges and innovative solutions in the area of selective waste collection, segregation and recycling.
Conference topics
During the three days of deliberations, the participants undertook a substantive discussion of the most important issues related to the functioning of the municipal waste management system in Poland:
– Organization of the selective waste collection system – practical challenges, barriers and opportunities for improvement.
– Costs and financing of selective collection and sources of effective operation of the system.
– Waste fractions vs. recycling levels – How selected waste streams (including paper, glass, plastics, bio-waste) affect environmental goals.
– Logistics and new technologies supporting selective waste collection and preparation for recycling.
– Panel “From waste to product” – the role of recyclers in closing the cycle of raw materials and promoting a circular economy.
The conference was also an opportunity to exchange experiences and networking, and to see examples of good practices in selective collection and recycling.
Representatives of NEU-JKF actively participated in debates and panel discussions, sharing their knowledge and experience in the field of dust extraction systems in waste management, as well as observations on the practical implementation of such installations in the processes of selective collection and recycling in the context of legislative, technological and organizational changes.
During the second day of the conference, the session on logistics and modern solutions for selective waste collection included a lecture by a representative of NEU-JKF. Marcin Kuczynski (NEU-JKF) presented a comprehensive approach to dust extraction in the recycling industry. In his speech, he discussed innovative technologies that can support waste management systems in the transformation of waste materials into valuable secondary materials and contribute to closing the cycle of raw materials in practice
This inspiring event reaffirmed the importance of cooperation between the public, private and scientific sectors in order to effectively achieve environmental goals related to the upcoming challenges in waste management.
