NEU-JKF is carrying out another project for STEICO, involving the delivery and installation of a complete dust extraction system and the modernization of the material handling system at the production plant in Czarna Woda. The project aims to increase process efficiency, improve safety, and adapt the facility to growing production needs.
The project involves not only the construction of a new dust collection system with a capacity of 60,000 m³/h, but also the reconstruction of part of the existing production line and the implementation of new solutions for material transport and separation.
Comprehensive dust extraction system
At the heart of the system is the SBF bag filter with a capacity of 60,000 m³/h, working in conjunction with direct-drive fans housed in sound-absorbing enclosures. The system was designed to remove wood dust and wood chips, meeting the requirements for St1-class explosive dusts and complying with the ATEX Directive. The system also incorporates certified check valves to enhance operational safety.
The project includes, among other things:
– a bag filter with the patented PowerPulse® cleaning system,
– fans in sound-absorbing enclosures,
– complete piping for the system,
– screw feeder,
– pneumatic material transport,
– JA-100 cyclone mounted on a silo,
– explosion isolation check valves and other ATEX safety devices.
The PowerPulse® system deserves special attention, as it allows for the cleaning of filter bags while the system is in operation, ensuring high filtration efficiency, uniform utilization of the filter surface area, and low compressed air consumption. The filter is also equipped with explosion-proof membranes, a dry fire suppression riser, and solutions designed to mitigate the effects of a potential dust explosion.
Modernization of material handling
The second component of the ongoing project is the modernization of the material collection system from the Costa milling machine. In this regard, NEU-JKF is supplying:
– a low-speed belt conveyor,
– a redler conveyor,
– a roller separator that divides the material into fine and coarse fractions,
– a rotary valve serving as an explosion barrier,
– a new control system based on a Siemens controller,
– complete CE documentation and explosion safety documentation,
installation and commissioning of the entire system.
This solution enables more efficient material transport, effective separation of the material, and safe integration with the existing dust collection system.
Safety and Efficiency
The design was developed with consideration for explosion safety requirements and the reliable operation of the system under the demanding conditions of the woodworking industry. All key equipment was manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the ATEX Directive, and the solutions implemented facilitate future maintenance and reduce operating costs.
The project for STEICO is yet another example of NEU-JKF’s comprehensive approach to the design and implementation of dust collection systems for the wood industry – from the design and manufacture of equipment, through the modernization of technological processes, to the installation and commissioning of the complete system.
